Miss Universe Angola 2012 Marcelina Vahekeni

OHMYGOSSIP — Marcelina Vahekeni (born in 1990) is an Angolan beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Angola 2011 and represented her country in the 2012 Miss Universe pageant.

Miss Cunene, Marcelina Vahekeni was crowned Miss Angola 2011, by Leila Lopes, Miss Universe 2011 who had the honor of delivering the crown on Saturday, 3 December at the gala teve place in the Conference Center of Fine in Luanda.

Marcelina is a model and a student of Human Resource Management. Marcelina Vahekeni will participate in the 61st edition of the Miss Universe pageant.

Miss Universe 2012, the 61st Miss Universe pageant, will be held in December 2012 in a venue to be announced by the Miss Universe Organization. Miss Universe 2011 Leila Lopes from Angola will crown her successor at the end of the event.

Miss Universe is an annual international beauty contest run by the Miss Universe Organization. The pageant is the most publicized beauty contest in the world with 600 million viewers. The contest was founded in 1952 by California clothing company Pacific Mills. The pageant became part of Kayser-Roth and then Gulf and Western Industries, before being acquired by Donald Trump in 1996. In 1998, Miss Universe changed its name from Miss Universe, Inc. to Miss Universe Organization and the headquarters moved from Long Beach California, to New York City that year. Donald Trump brought in a new team of professionals to the contest headed by its new CEO, Molly Miles, and president Maureen Reidy. The contest would use the slogan “Redefined for Today” for promotion of the pageants. The current Miss Universe is Leila Lopes, from Angola. She won the title on Sept 12, 2011.


Angola, officially the Republic of Angola is a country in southern Africa bordered by Namibia on the south, the Democratic Republic of the Congo on the north, and Zambia on the east; its west coast is on the Atlantic Ocean with Luanda as its capital city. The exclave province of Cabinda has borders with the Republic of the Congo and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Angola is an independent state since November 11th 1975. It includes 18 provinces: Bengo, Benguela, Bié, Cabinda, Cuando-Cub ango ,Kwanza-Norte, Kwanza-Sul, Cunene, Huambo, Huíla, Luanda, Lunda-Norte, Lunda-Sul, Malanje, Moxico, Namibe, Uíge e Zaire.
