Linnea Aaltonen to Ohmygossip.com: I have a good feeling about this year!
“My trip to Philippines was great. Weather was great and the landscape is just beautiful. However I think that the most amazing thing there is that the people are so happy and kind despite the poverty around them,” former Miss Finland Linnea Aaltonen tells Ohmygossip.com.
How was your trip to Philippines?
My trip to Philippines was great. Weather was great and the landscape is just beautiful. However I think that the most amazing thing there is that the people are so happy and kind despite the poverty around them. We actually spent almost three weeks there and went many places like Boracay Island, Cebu and Bohol. We also got many new friends there. Furthermore we spent two days in Singapore which is such an unbelievable beautiful and unique city/country.
Did you meet your old Miss Earth friends?
Some of them yes. It was very nice to see them after six years. They took us to many unique places that we wouldn’t have found out by ourselves. They also provided us with great travelling tips.
How was the weather in the Philippines?
As I mentioned earlier the weather was really nice. We were lucky because the sun was shining almost every day. The temperature was around 30 degrees (celcius) around-the-clock and we enjoyed every bit of it. As a consequence we just rested on the beach a lot.
What interesting things you did there?
I tried open water scuba diving for the first time in my life. I was really scared and almost had panic attack when we started but then I put myself together and I made it. So I am very proud of myself. I also went to a zipline which was a little bit over half kilometer long and was placed in a very high place. I must say the view was awesome. Other interesting things I did that I enjoyed was snorkeling, kayaking, paraw sailing, river cruising and Island hopping. I also saw the world’s smallest monkey, tarsier. Such a cute creature! In Singapore we went to Universal Studios and had so much fun. In addition we visited Marina Bay which was stunning especially in the evening!
Did you bought sth special?
Well I bought many many things, mostly clothes and jewellery. And to be honest, everything I buy is always something special in my opinion. Haha. Anyway Philippines is a great place to buy real pearls because the price is lower than in Finland and there is much more variety to choose from. So maybe the most special things were unique pearl jewellery. And also one very beautiful luxury hand bag. Actually this list would just go on and on! To be honest I had to buy a very big new luggage to get all my shopping back to Finland. And that’s a fact. But what I am very proud of is that I bought only things with good quality and didn’t fell for the cheapest things.
What are you plans for now (for March, April,..)
Unfortunately I caught a cold right after I came back Finland and now I am trying to recover. I have some work appointments this week and also the whole next month will be very busy with work. I will have some photo shootings and promotional events in exhibitions in Finland and Sweden. There is also a few exciting new working opportunities that are under discussion (some of them are abroad) so only future will tell. But I have a good feeling about this year!
