Sarah Jessica Parker is “proud” to have a successful marriage. The I Don’t Know How She Does It actress has been married to Matthew Broderick – with whom she has three children, James, nine, and two-year-old twins Marion and Tabitha — for 14 years and thinks looking at her spouse through her kids’ eyes and not always talking about their own relationship are key factors in making their union work.
“I figure it out. I’m proud that with lives that are complicated, we keep figuring it out,” she said.
“We don’t talk about our marriage a lot, which is probably wise. There are so many other things in our life that take precedence over splitting the atom of our marriage.
“We have this marvelous family, and our son and daughters are in love with Matthew and I think that’s wonderful. There’s always a moment where you see him through their eyes and it’s really seductive — I think that’s great for a marriage.”
Despite her previous successes, the actress insists she doesn’t take things for granted and take “comfort” in the fact she still “gives a s**t” about her career.
“I think I just care because I care. Part of me finds comfort in the fact I still give a s**t. I’ve been on movie sets where people were just going through the motions. I don’t ever want to be one of those people who doesn’t want to be there,” she said.
