Shane Warne confirms Elizabeth Hurley engagement

Shane Warne has confirmed that he is engaged to Elizabeth Hurley. Reports of an impending proposal first surfaced early last week after sources claimed that the Australian cricket star had decided to ask the model and Gossip Girl actress to marry him by the end of this year.

Today, the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship issued a press release confirming that Warne had proposed to Hurley.

“Shane Warne has confirmed his engagement to actress Elizabeth Hurley after proposing at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship,” read the release.

Meanwhile, the pair posted identical tweets yesterday thanking well-wishers for their support.

“Thanks for all your congratulations. Here’s a pic of us about to go to Dunhill dinner in St Andrews,” the two wrote.

The couple were rumoured to be engaged in August, but Warne denied the reports, insisting that he will let the public know if there is an important “announcement” to make.

Warne has three children with ex-wife Simone Callahan, while Hurley split from Arun Nayar last December after four years of marriage.
