Cheryl Cole turns down Britain’s Got Talent

Cheryl Cole has reportedly declined the opportunity to become a judge on Britain’s Got Talent. The Girls Aloud singer has turned down an offer from her former X Factor colleague Simon Cowell, according to The Sun. A friend of Cole is quoted as saying: “There’s no way she will do Britain’s Got Talent. She thinks it’s all a massive joke.

“Why on earth would she do that show when she turned down [a return to] The X Factor?”

Michael McIntyre‘s departure from Britain’s Got Talent was confirmed yesterday by broadcaster ITV.

The stand-up comedian had been a judge for one series and is believed to be preparing for a new UK tour.

Little Britain star David Walliams has recently been linked with the show.

Cole has also been linked with a role on a forthcoming UK version of NBC singing competition The Voice. The BBC has picked up the rights and its version of the show is due to debut on BBC One next year.

Cowell revealed earlier this month that Cole had originally turned down the chance to be a Britain’s Got Talent judge when the show was launched, with the role then going to Amanda Holden.
