Adele, Jessie J, Arctic Monkeys lead Q Awards nominations

Adele and Jessie J lead this year’s Q Awards nominations. The former Brit School students have each received three nods on the list and will battle it out for the ‘Q Best Female Artist’ award.

Adele has two nominations in the ‘Best Track’ category with her singles ‘Rolling In The Deep’ and ‘Someone Like You’, while Jessie J‘s other two nods come from the ‘Breakthrough Artist’ and ‘Best Video’ categories.

Arctic Monkeys have also been named in three categories including ‘Best Track’ for ‘Don’t Sit Down ‘Cause I’ve Moved Your Chair’, ‘Best Album’ for Suck It And See and ‘Best Act In The World Today’.

Joining the band in the latter category are Muse, Coldplay, Kasabian, Arcade Fire and U2.

Mercury Prize winner PJ Harvey receives two mentions in the ‘Best Female Act’ and ‘Best Album’ categories and Beyoncé will fight off competition from Elbow, Biffy Clyro, Coldplay and Chase & Status for the ‘Best Live Act’ gong.

All of the Q Awards winners will be announced on October 24 at a ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel. The winners will be voted for by fans and votes can be submitted through the magazine’s official website.
