Zooey Deschanel hates vanity
Zooey Deschanel plans to look a mess on TV. The actress says she’s tired of being judged on her style and beauty and intends to embrace her “dorky” side for new TV show New Girl.
“The fun thing about that character is that I can just completely throw myself into it without vanity,” says Zooey.
“I feel like vanity is ultimately the enemy of an actor. When we started this show , I was like, ‘I’m gonna really go for this, in a way that could be so unattractive. I’ve really gone back to my teens and my dorky side — the real me.”
Zooey has previously admitted she tells fibs during interviews!
“If someone has an idea how I am going to answer something and already has an angle on what they are going to write about I know it right away and that makes me feel so uncomfortable and just makes me want to rebel,” she said.
“I don’t like leading questions that are telling me how I feel. I don’t like that and I also don’t like it when people make statements disguised as questions which are also leading me.”
