Shia LaBeouf enjoyed distraction of directing Marilyn Manson video
Shia LaBeouf says he was glad of the ‘diversion’ of directing Marilyn Manson’s new music video. The Transformers star surprised many when he chose to direct the singer’s video for new single ‘Born Villain’, after the unlikely pair struck up a close friendship.
“This, for me, this is a really cool diversion for me when I’m not making a movie,” LaBeouf told MTV News recently.
“It gives me an opportunity to work with musicians I admire who I would otherwise never get to work with in any other capacity.
“I really have a fun time doing it. It allows me to be creative in another art form and work with heroes.”
LaBeouf is also keen to direct a documentary film about Manson’s music career.
The actor will next be seen opposite Guy Pearce and Tom Hardy in the John Hillcoat-directed movie The Wettest County in the World.
