Kim Kardashian earns £11m from wedding
Kim Kardashian apparently earned around £11 million from her wedding to Kris Humphries. The reality star wed the former New Jersey Nets player last weekend and earned the amount through TV and magazine deals, as well as product placement agreements, the Daily Star Sunday reports.
Kardashian apparently made £9.15 million from cable network E!, which filmed the ceremony for a four-hour, two-part special called Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event – due to air in October.
She earned £1.5 million by selling exclusive pictures of the wedding to People and £61,000 in foreign magazine deals, in addition to the £183,337 she received for her engagement announcement.
Las Vegas nightclub Tao paid £30,550 for her hen party in return for a mention on the TV show, while Vera Wang provided a £12,205 wedding dress and two evening dresses totaling £24,500 free of charge.
Other freebies included £244,587 worth of a Perrier-Jouet champagne, £19,000 in hair and make-up services and a ten-tier wedding cake by Hansen’s Bakery worth £9,168.
Kardashian is even said to have received free Lehr & Black wedding invitations, normally costing £6,113.
Los Angeles-based event planner Tony Schubert said: “It benefits them for their goods and services to be seen by millions and millions of viewers. Kim knows this very well. The wedding invitations were sent out early to help generate even more buzz. It’s all part of the game.”
