Paris Hilton ex-boyfriend Cy Waits takes plea deal in drug case
Paris Hilton’s former boyfriend Cy Waits will take a plea deal to resolve an outstanding felony drug charge. Waits and Hilton were arrested in Las Vegas in August 2010 when police noticed a vapour trail of smoke emanating from their vehicle. During their investigation, authorities discovered a small bag of cocaine, which had fallen from Hilton’s purse.
Hilton later pleaded guilty to misdemeanour drug possession and obstruction and was sentenced to one year of probation.
Waits, who was driving at the time of the traffic stop, was charged with one felony count of being under the influence of a controlled substance as well as misdemeanour marijuana possession and a DUI.
His lawyer Richard Schonfeld told a Las Vegas justice of the peace that Waits will officially enter a plea deal on Wednesday, but declined to disclose any details of the agreement.
Schonfeld refused to make any further comments as he left the court, The AP reports.
In June, Hilton and Waits confirmed that they’d ended their relationship after dating for several months.
