Ellie Goulding: Jessie J and I are different
Ellie Goulding has said that her career goals differ from those of friend and fellow popstar Jessie J. In an interview with Glamour.com, the ‘Starry Eyed’ singer admitted that she never aspired to be famous and prefers a more anonymous lifestyle.
“Me and Jessie talk quite a lot – I saw her last night actually. My lifestyle is different. I’m quite private. And I never wanted to be the biggest star in the world really,” she explained.
“So in that sense I’ve got a good balance of doing great shows, of making an appearance every now and then and writing music, and I don’t really have to do much else. If I became the biggest star in the world, that would be a bonus really. But it’s not something I aspire to be. I’m quite happy really.”
Goulding went on to reveal that she enjoys spending time with Jessie J as the pair get along well and are able to “talk about things”.
“Me and Jessie J were out last night as friends. No interference from anyone. Nobody bothered us, nobody cared, there were no cameras, and that is how I like things,” she recalled. “I like that Jessie is so down to earth, and I like that we can just go out and talk about things.”
Goulding recently completed her first US tour, which she described as “insane, tiring and a lot of work”. She previously insisted that she does not feel pressured to achieve the same success in America as she has back in the UK.
