Barbra Streisand and James Brolin fight to keep their marriage alive
Barbra Streisand and her husband James Brolin apparently credit regular fighting sessions and psychological relationship shock therapy for keeping their nearly 13 year marriage together.
Sources say the couple goes out of the way to keep their relationship from crumbling by engaging in their own unique brand of marriage counseling.
“They often take time out for long, frank conversations about problem areas in their relationship — like Barbra’s tendency to be a controlling diva and Jim’s penchant for being aloof and too much of a loner,” an insider told American tabloid the National Enquirer.
“They air their grievances about each other.
“They have hurt one another during these sessions and they have both cried their share of tears, but it’s one of the things that has saved them from divorcing like so many other high-profile couples.
“They are big proponents of relationship therapy.
“They went into the marriage tentatively. Neither was looking to tie the knot again.
“But because they are both so supportive, and because they feel they can say anything to one another, it’s become one of Hollywood’s most successful bonds.
“Sometimes their absolute honesty hurts. But it keeps their marriage thriving.”
