Christina Aguilera has been awarded the honour of singing the US national anthem at this year’s Super Bowl in February 6.
The Super Bowl will take place in Texas and sees the Green Bay Packers play the Pittsburgh Steelers for the NFL title.
Christina Aguilera performed at half time during the 2000 Super Bowl so this will mark her second appearance at the event.
This year’s half time show will feature a performance by the Black Eyed Peas.
Christina will be following in the footsteps of the likes of Carrie Underwood, Beyonce Knowles and Mariah Carey, all of which have previously sung the national anthem at the high profile event.
