Peter Andre: Music should mean something

Peter Andre has said that music should have meaning to it. The singer-songwriter told Heat that he did not mind if people made connections between his lyrics and personal life.

Andre said: “I’m just glad people are picking up on the fact that the music I write is about stuff that’s personal to me. I think music should have meaning to it. So I’m cool with it.”

When it was suggested that he must have known listeners would seek references to his ex-wife Katie Price in his work, he added: “Yeah, but there’s another song on it called ‘Cry In Public’. It was only later that I thought ‘People are going to think I’m singing about the time I cried on TV’.”

Andre recently rejected the suggestion that his track ‘Mercy On Me’ is about his relationship with Price.

Of the glamour model allegedly dedicating her fourth memoir to him, Andre said: “That’s just complete made-up sensationalism. I don’t want to be seen as a victim. I’m finally at a point in my life where I’m happy. That’s why the album’s upbeat and energetic.”
