Kristen Stewart: I’m glad I can do those films, and I was glad to leave school
Kristen Stewart has admitted that she was glad to leave high school at the age of 14 to pursue acting. The Twilight actress, 20, revealed that other students mocked her career choice after seeing some of her films.
Speaking to the News of the World, she said: “I’m glad I can do those films, and I was glad to leave school. I couldn’t relate to kids my own age. They were mean and didn’t give you any chance.
“I was never the type of girl to be walking around talking about acting, so I didn’t get a whole lot of hassle until someone saw some old movie I did. I tried to play it down, but I definitely got, ‘Oh, she’s such a bitch’.”
Stewart also revealed that she finally got her high school diploma after years of homeschooling, just a week before filming graduation scenes for the latest Twilight instalment, Eclipse: “I know it’s a little late and I’m a little old.
“I told the crew, ‘Hey, just so you know, I’m actually graduating right now and I’m not going to have another ceremony’. So I took a mock picture with an extra. I asked the actor to come back and shake my hand and hand me the diploma while I was in a cap and gown.”
