Candice Brown's Easter baking memories

OHMYGOSSIP — Candice Brown used to love baking with her nan at Easter.
The ‘Great British Bake Off’ winner’s beloved family member was always her biggest “inspiration” in the kitchen and she has particularly fond memories of cooking with her at this time of year.
Candice has teamed up with Now TV to create some new twists on the traditional favourite Hot Cross Buns to create an exclusive line of Tot Cross Buns, inspired by popular kids TV shows ‘SpongeBob SquarePants’, ‘Be Cool, Scooby Do’, ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ and the ‘Powerpuff Girls’.
She said: “For me, the best thing about Easter isn’t the chocolate it’s the hot cross buns. I just love them and I wanted to give them a fun and playful twist to brighten up the Easter table and delight the kids this year.
“Easter always makes me think of my Nan as it was the time we cooked together and sat down for a family meal. She was my inspiration for getting into baking – she did everything by hand – and I wanted to show just how easy it is to make my delicious Tot Cross Buns yourself at home.”
The buns include a tropical ‘Bun-der-the-sea’ ‘SpongeBob’-inspired treat, which features pineapple and is decorated with a blue cross and edible pink starish, a chocolate, fudge and caramel-centred Mystery Bun in honour of doggy detective Scooby and a pepperoni pizza-flavoured treat, which incorporates the ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ favourite food.
The final Hot X Bun pays homage to ‘Powerpuff Girls’ with a dried strawberry and cranberry filling and a topping of popping candy, mini marshmallows, strawberry laces and edible glitter
The shows are all available to watch with a NOW TV Kids Pass, contract-free.
Watch a step-by-step guide on making the buns at www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhJiFlmrMOw&feature=youtu.be and the full recipe details are at NOWTV.UK/TOTCROSSBUNS.
The buns will also be available to buy for one day only on 12 April at Primrose Bakery in Covent Garden, London. The buns cost £2.99 for four and come with a one month NOW TV Kids Pass.
