In a series of tweets, he wrote: “Well YES !!! So somebody leaked this info ! I should have leaked it myself ! I think Queen fans will love our new Monopoly game ! Bri …Launch of our fabulous new official Queen Monopoly game scuppered by a leak to AMAZON ! But you guys will love it I’m sure. I do ! “And it is due in a shop near you in May. I’m excited – It was a blast working on it – like making an album ! We hope you love it ! choose your weapons !!! Bri (sic)”
May showed off the individual game metal pieces on Instagram, which include the hoover late great frontman, Freddie Mercury – who died in 1991 aged 45 due to complications caused by AIDS – used in the music video for 1984’s ‘I Want to Break Free’, Brian’s guitar, the wireless from ‘Radio Ga Ga’ and 1978’s ‘Bicycle Race’ video.
Gamers and fans of the ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ hitmakers will be able to make their way around the board following their journey to success, staring off at their first ever gig in 1970 at Imperial College, London and Mercury’s last ever performance with the band in 1986 at Knebworth Park in Hertfordshire.
The game is slated for release in May.
