Olly Murs suprises school children with guest appearance

OHMYGOSSIP — Olly Murs returned to his old school ahead of this year’s Children in Need fundraiser.
The 32-year-old singer treated the pupils of Notley High School in Essex, England – where Olly himself was educated – to a performance of his new single ‘Grow Up’ before stopping to talk to them about ways they can help raise money for the BBC fundraising event.
Children in Need aims to make a positive change change to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK, with a vision that every child should have a safe, secure, childhood and a chance to reach their potential.
This year, the charity has launched the Big Spotacular, which aims to get school children involved with the fundraising campaigns.
Speaking at the school, Olly said: “It was such a fun day, I absolutely loved being back at my old secondary school and it definitely brought back a lot of memories. Unfortunately, most of them weren’t born when I left Notley High, but it was brilliant to be able to surprise the kids in their assembly! It sounds like they’ve got some brilliant spotty fundraising ideas in store. I hope other schools across the UK are encouraged to get involved with the Big Spotacular and help raise money for BBC Children in Need, it’s such a great cause!”
And the ‘You Don’t Know Love’ hitmaker also took to Instagram to share a picture taken after his performance.
He captioned the photo: “Just took a trip down memory lane this morning at my old school Notley High in Braintree!! Loved it… (sic)”
BBC’s Children in Need televised appeal night – which hosts a number of special television programmes aimed to encourage people to donate to the cause – will be broadcast live on BBC One on November 18.
