IDW to publish “True Blood” comic
IDW Publishing has partnered with HBO to publish comics based on its “True Blood” television series.
Developed in conjunction with the show’s Oscar-winning creator Alan Ball, the book will debut at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con in July.
“I am very excited to be introducing the “True Blood” comic book series. These graphic novels are a great companion to the series & we are pleased that the popularity of the show is allowing it to branch out into different mediums,” said Ball.
Running for an initial six issues, the comic is scripted by writers Kate Barnow and Elisabeth Finch, in collaboration with David Tischman & Mariah Huehner. Artwork is provided by David Messina and a cover design by J. Scott Campbell.
“True Blood is one of the most exciting dramas on television and has been eagerly anticipated by comics fans for a long time. We are very excited to bring more of this great entertainment franchise to fans,” said IDW CEO Ted Adams.
