Luke Littler ‘lands Bullseye role’ for iconic game show’s Christmas revival

OHMYGOSSIP — Luke Littler has reportedly signed up for the ‘Bullseye’ revival.
The 17-year-old World Championship runner-up is said to joining new host Freddie Flintoff on ITV’s upcoming Christmas reboot of the iconic quiz show, and he’ll be throwing for charity as the guest player.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TVBiz column: “Luke wasn’t even born when Bullseye was on our screens with original host, Jim Bowen. But Luke knows this is a plum role to have landed.
“As he steps up to the Bullseye oche he knows he’s following in the footsteps of legends including Eric Bristow and Jocky Wilson who all threw darts on the programme in its 1980s heyday.”
Landing Luke for the festive episode has been described as a real “coup” for the producers, who are said to have acted fast to get him on board.
The insider added: “It’s also a coup for the makers of the new Bullseye as Luke is now one of Britain’s best-known players.
“Producers moved swiftly to sign him shortly after the programme was recommissioned by ITV.
“It all adds to the huge sense of excitement for the programme to return.”
A date has yet to be set for the Christmas special, but it’s hoped the return will be a big enough hit to prompt a full series in 2025.
The original show – which became infamous for its less-than-stellar prizes – first aired on ITV between 1981 and 1995 with host Bowen at the helm.
Professional dart players regularly appeared and tried to get as many points as possible to earn money for charities which were picked by teams of amateur players.
The revival is being made by 12 Yard Productions with former ‘Top Gear’ host Flintoff presenting.
He previously said: “‘Bullseye was one of my favourite shows as a kid. I can’t quite believe I’ll get to host this.”
