Sir David Jason admits one of his burning ambitions is a blockbuster film role

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir David Jason wants to break into Hollywood.
At the age of 83, and after a career spanning 50 years, the Del Boy actor said one of his remaining burning ambitions is a part in a blockbuster movie.
He told The Times: “One of my ambitions is to be part of a major movie, as that would complete my dream of a Hollywood experience.”
Sir David also asked during his chat with the newspaper: “Any producers out there?”
The actor, who spent 22 years playing Derek ‘Del Boy’ Trotter on ‘Only Fools and Horses’ did a handful of films in the 1970s including ‘Under Milk Wood’, but has focused on TV work, with his other iconic roles including Granville in ‘Open All Hours’ and its follow-up ‘Still Open All Hours’, as well as Detective Inspector Jack Frost in ‘A Touch of Frost’ and Pop Larkin in ‘The Darling Buds of May’.
Reflecting on his award-laden television work, Sir David added to The Times: “I try not to look back too much. The past is a foreign country, they do things differently there, but I couldn’t be happier with how my career has turned out.”
Sir David spoke of his Hollywood dreams after his ‘Only Fools’ co-star Nicholas Lyndhurst, 62, last year landed a money-spinning role in the ‘Frasier’ sitcom reboot.
Nicholas, famed for his role as Del’s brother Rodney on ‘Only Fools’, plays boozy university professor Alan Cornwall in the return of the US show on Paramount+.
But Sir David admitted he still hasn’t watched his old co-star on the reboot, saying: “Winter evenings have us hunkering down in front of the fire and watching television.”
“I haven’t seen the reboot of ‘Frasier’ yet with Nick Lyndhurst, my old co-star from ‘Only Fools and Horses’, but I’m sure he will have done a great job.”
