Jane McDonald lands ‘dream’ job on hit BBC Three show

OHMYGOSSIP — Jane McDonald is to serve as a guest judge on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Versus The World’.
The 60-year-old star admitted it was a dream come true to have had the chance to sit in on the panel of the BBC Three series and will be seen alongside regular judges RuPaul, Michelle Visage Alan Carr, and Graham Norton as well as fellow guest Sinitta when the episode launches on BBC iPlayer on February 9.
She told The Sun newspaper’s TVBiz column: “Sitting alongside Ru was a dream. Each one of the queens were spectacular and fabulous, and showcased talent from right across the globe. May the best drag queen win!”
The former ‘Loose Women’ panellist – who shot to fame as a singer on a cruise ship that became the subject of a BBC documentary in 1998 and subsequently launched a music career following the show’s success – is a huge fan of ‘Drag Race’ and previously revealed admitted that she gets a lot of style tips from watching the programme.
She told Entertainment Daily: “I think it’s the best thing that’s hit TV, because it’s brought a complete new genre into our industry, which has been given the light it should have had for an awful long time. I just love it and I get a lot of my hairstyles and make-up tips from the show and I look at the queens sometimes and think ‘Oh my God, that’s me!’
“I’ve got the big hair. I love the shoulder pads, I love all that. I might do a bit of padding myself.”
The ‘You’re My World’ songstress joked that if she wasn’t a woman she would “absolutely” be a man in drag and still loves to bring a level of “camp” to her own shows.
She said: “I’ve always said, if I wasn’t a woman, I’d be a man in drag. Absolutely.
‘I love being camp. That’s the whole thing! We’re in show business for goodness sake. I love to bring that camp-ness to it – that’s just how I am!”
