James Corden to host CFDA Fashion Awards
OHMYGOSSIP — James Corden is set to host this year’s CFDA Fashion Awards, which honours fashion’s most elite designers and icons in North America.
The ‘Into The Woods’ star will host the ceremony, which honours fashion’s most elite designers and icons in North America.
Steven Kolb, CEO of the Council of Fashion Designers of America said: “As the charming and funny new host of ‘The Late Late Show’, we couldn’t think of a better time for James Corden to share his observations on American fashion at the 2015 CFDA Fashion Awards.”
It has already been confirmed Pharrell Williams will be honoured with the Fashion Icon Award, whilst the other lucky winners will be announced on the night.
The 36-year-old actor and television personality may not be known for his links to the fashion world but he recently revealed he used to go on lunch dates with the editor of American Vogue, Anna Wintour.
He said previously: “We used to go for lunch every month when I was doing a play in New York. I’d say I speak to her fairly frequently. I really, really like her. We get on very well and she’s incredibly supportive.”
James was also keen to shut down rumours that Anna is a menacing woman.
He added: “I’ve never ever seen anything at all that shows that is the case. All I’ve ever met is an unbelievably supportive, caring, warm lady, who is a real champion of people.
“It’s not just me; there’s a lot of people who she wants to get behind and help them. I’m over the moon whenever I’m in her company, I really like her.”
The ceremony will take place on June 1 at Alice Tully Hall in New York.
