Jessica Chastain: Marriage isn’t important
OHMYGOSSIP — Jessica Chastain has a “fantastic” relationship with Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo but insists getting married isn’t “important” to her.
The ‘A Most Violent Year’ star – who has been in a relationship Italian fashion executive Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo for more than two years – says “everything is fantastic” in her relationship but she has never seen tying the knot as a significant goal in her life.
She explained: “I’m not quite sure of what I want in my life, and who knows if marriage is a part of it. So to me, marriage is not an important thing.”
Elsewhere, the 37-year-old beauty is delighted a scene in ‘A Most Violent Year’ in which she defies an investigator by tossing her cigarette has already proved to be iconic as it was an unscripted moment.
She told People magazine: “That was a Chastain invention. I had no idea people would be coming up to me and flicking a cigarette and quoting my line, ‘This was very disrespectful.’ It’s very cool.”
Jessica recently admitted she has never been interested in dating another celebrity because she wouldn’t want her personal life to impact on her career.
She explained: “You can choose not to put yourself in a situation where you could fall in love with someone who is probably not right for you.
“I never want people to be sitting in a movie theatre thinking, ‘That’s Jessica – she’s dating so and so… We saw the first pictures of the baby…’ I’ve seen people court all that and there’s nothing wrong with it but it’s not for me. I’m not in for the sprint. I hope to be like Vanessa Redgrave; I want to be 77 years old and working.”
