Jeff Daniels lined up for role in Steve Jobs biopic

OHMYGOSSIP — Hollywood star Jeff Daniels is being lined up for a role in the new Steve Jobs biopic. The 59-year-old actor is being lined up to play the part of John Sculley, the CEO of Apple from 1983 to 1993, who met with scriptwriter Aaron Sorkin when he was researching the much-anticipated film.

Although Jeff is yet to receive an official offer, he is top of director Danny Boyle’s wanted list for the part, The Wrap reports.

‘Jobs’ has endured a number of casting problems over the last few months, the latest of which saw Oscar winner Natalie Portman reject the chance to appear in the film.

Natalie, 33, was offered the part of Joanna Hoffman – the former Mac marketing chief – and the role still needs to be filled.

Previously, Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale both declined the opportunity to play Jobs, with the latter claiming he was not suited to the part of the tech whiz, who died in October 2011, aged 56.

However, Jeff could soon be added to the cast, which also features Michael Fassbender in the lead role, as well as comedian Seth Rogen as Steve Wozniak, the co-founder of Apple.
