Zoe Ball to present this weekend’s Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Zoe Ball will present ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ for the third week running while regular host Claudia Winkleman takes time off to care for her daughter Matilda who was badly burned during an accident last month.

The BBC One celebrity dance contest will move up north to the Tower Ballroom for this year’s Blackpool special where Zoe – who has already been well-received by viewers – will present the series for the third week in a row.

The 43-year-old TV personality will host this weekend’s show alongside Tess Daly while regular presenter Claudia Winkleman continues to take time off to care for her daughter Matilda, who was badly burned during an accident on Halloween (31.10.14).

Claudia, 42, was originally rumoured to be returning to present the Blackpool special after spending a fortnight at her daughter’s bedside, however, it’s now been confirmed she is not yet ready to go back to work.

Claudia and husband Kris Thykier’s daughter Matilda had to be rushed to hospital on October 31 after her Halloween costume reportedly caught fire and burnt her legs.

In a statement, the couple – who also have sons Jake and Arthur together – said at the time: “Our daughter was involved in an accident on Friday night while celebrating Halloween. She is having the best care possible and we are hopeful of a full recovery.”
