David Hasselhoff’s five wives in new show
OHMYGOSSIP — David Hasselhoff will star in a ‘wacky’ new show ‘Hoff the Record’ in which he will play a fictionalised version of himself. The former ‘Baywatch’ actor is set to play a fictional version of himself in new Dave series ‘Hoff the Record’ – a comedy series focusing on his attempt to juggle five wives – which he describes as “‘The Kumars’ meets ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm'”.
He explained: “It’s a fun and wacky show. I want to say it’s ‘The Kumars’ meets ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’
“It’s really funny and goofy, but also intelligent. It’s a real send-up. [In the show] I have five wives and I find out my son was actually born on the Berlin Wall the night it came down. It’s just non-stop jokes.”
Although the series was devised by producers Me & You Productions, the 62-year-old star confessed he had already come up with a similar plot before meeting with them.
He told Digital Spy: “The funny part about this, was that I was approached by Me & You Productions who did ‘The Ricky Gervais Show’, and they pitched this show to me, the exact show I had in my head, on paper!
“I said, ‘Guys, I’ve already got this, so we’re gonna be co-creators here, because there’s too many similarities here to what I wrote’, except that it took place in England and there are more crazy English characters.”
