Selena Gomez: I don’t get dressed up for others
OHMYGOSSIP — Selena Gomez urges girls to dress for themselves. The star is multitalented, having starred in films such as Spring Breakers, released album Stars Dance and even become the face of Adidas’ Neo range.
She hosted a fashion show for the brand earlier this month and dressed in one of its simple black jumpsuits. When it comes to looking good, the 22-year-old doesn’t try to please anybody else.
“You have to find out what suits you!” she advised her fans in German magazine Bravo.
“And always remember: I don’t get dressed up for others – I do it for myself!”
Judging by her red carpet looks, it would seem Selena always gets it right. Her scarlet Valentino jumpsuit turned heads at a Variety event last month, while her Saint Laurent power suit oozed sophistication at August’s Teen Choice Awards.
But even stars endure fashion fails; and she’s more than happy to admit it.
“When it comes to style, you’re allowed to make mistakes,” she smiled.
And staying true to her down-to-earth self, the singer-and-actress recently revealed she’s cautious when buying clothes. Designers might be clamouring to lend her dresses for big events, but she’s a high-street girl at heart,
“I don’t even want to know how much they usually cost, but it’s been really fun for me to dress up and get to meet different designers,” she told People. “I don’t think I could ever actually purchase a huge gown unless it’s my wedding dress!”
