Simon Cowell is attempting to create the next Girls Aloud on ‘The X Factor’
OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The X Factor’ boss Simon Cowell has put together five female contestants with the aim of creating the next Girls Aloud after the young hopefuls failed to make it as solo stars.
The media mogul has put together five female contestants who didn’t make it to Boot Camp as solo stars, and told them they have a chance of becoming the next big thing as a band.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: “The girls all auditioned separately but didn’t quite make the cut. Luckily, Simon decided to intervene.
“He told them they all have something special and that they could work as a vocal harmony group if they bonded well.
“So the girls have worked on that. They aren’t quite as polished as some of the other groups, but they are all very pretty, talented singers.”
It is said the band – who haven’t been named yet – have a lot in common with “a young Girls Aloud”, and one the singers has actually performed as judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini in a tribute band.
The source added: “There are definitely similarities with a young Girls Aloud. One of the girls once sang as Cheryl in a tribute band.
“They hope they can live up to Simon’s expectations and prove he was right to give them a second chance.”
