Brad Pitt buys Spitfire plane
OHMYGOSSIP — Brad Pitt has splashed out $4 million on a spitfire plane. The actor, 49, is fascinated with World War II since working on his latest movie Fury and has bought one of the fighter aircraft which was commonly used by the Royal Air Force during the battle, which took place between 1939 and 1945.
“Brad, who has done everything from sleep in the trenches to learn to drive a tank for the film, has now invested in one of the iconic machines,” a source said.
Brad will get lessons on how to fly the plane at Boultbee Flying Academy in Oxford where students are taught how to operate the Spitfire safely.
Recent reports claimed Brad is having a tough time on the set of Fury — thanks to his strained relationship with costar Shia LaBeouf.
The pair started off well, but their different outlooks have caused them to come to blows.
“Brad and Shia haven’t formed a tight friendship during the making of Fury,” a source said.
“They have very different styles of working and it’s not mixing well on a personal level, which is tough because Brad and Shia met many years ago and wanted to work together. They searched a long time until they found the right project and both were enthusiastic about the World War II army thriller.
“Brad is impressed by the performance Shia is turning in, but it’s not helping their friendship for Brad to see how much torture Shia puts himself through to get results.
“Brad is a laid back guy who works completely differently from this kid.
“Brad loves to joke around with his young costars. And especially on a very serious war movie, he’d love to take the edge off by kicking back between scenes. But Shia wants to stay in character the whole time.”
