Savannah Guthrie under wedding pressure
OHMYGOSSIP — Savannah Guthrie has been feeling the wedding-plan pressure. The TODAY show anchor announced her engagement to fiancé Mike Feldman in May. “Everyone including our mothers are wondering when the heck we are going to get married,” Guthrie told People magazine.
“They are just so happy and excited for us. We had such a great summer. We had a couple of engagement parties. Matt [Lauer] threw us one in New York and [NBC’s chief White House correspondent] Chuck Todd threw us one in Washington. We were just enjoying the moment and the thrill of being engaged. Now we need to actually plan, so we are working on it.
“Both of us want to be involved, but at the same time we’re overwhelmed by the prospect of having to plan a whole wedding, so we’re in it together.
“He will probably want to be in charge of the music, and I could be in charge of flowers and doilies or whatever the girls are supposed to be in charge of.
“We just want to create a feeling and an atmosphere and a moment. It doesn’t have to be formal and like a classic wedding situation – we just want it to feel meaningful and personal.”
