M.I.A teams up with Versace

OHMYGOSSIP — M.I.A has teamed up with Versace and is preparing to release a top-secret project in the upcoming weeks. The 38-year-old rapper – real name Mathangi Arulpragasam – has joined forces with the Italian fashion company and is preparing to release a top-secret project with them within the next couple of weeks.

Speaking to WWD at the Balenciaga fashion show, she said: “I have a collaboration with Versace coming out in two weeks.”

The ‘Paper Planes’ hitmaker is remaining tight-lipped on details of the collaboration, but it is thought she has been working on something for Donatella Versace’s second line, Versus, which is Versace’s sister line.

This isn’t the first time the controversial star – who is often spotted attending Versace’s catwalk shows and is regularly dressed in their designs – has been connected to the company.

M.I.A sparked rumours she was the road to a collaboration with the brand, one of the world’s leading international fashion houses, last year after releasing pictures of what looked like her own designs for Versace at a talk in New York City.
