Duchess of Cornwall encourages young people’s finance

OHMYGOSSIP —Britain’s the Duchess of Cornwall has launched a competition for the Personal Finance Education Group as part of My Money Week to encourage young people to learn about money and finances.

Britain’s Duchess of Cornwall has launched a competition to encourage young people to learn more about money and finances. Camilla – who is married to Prince Charles – is advising children and teenagers to develop their knowledge of the A-Z of money by putting their ideas into different formats for the contest run by the Personal Finance Education Group (PFEG) as part of My Money Week.

Those involved can input their work through styles including short stories, poems or an illustrated money alphabet, with an aim to improve their financial capabilities.

The duchess, patron of a number of literacy charities, said: “The My Money Week competition this year is setting young people from the ages of four to 19 the challenge to think creatively about The A-Z of money.

“I hope the competition will encourage them to find out about finance and have fun putting it into their own words.”

My Money Week, which is now in its fifth year, will take place from June 3 to June 9 and chief executive of PFEG Tracey Bleakley hopes it will “equip” young people for the future.

She said: “My Money Week is a great way to get involved in teaching children about money in a fun and engaging way, and we hope as many young people as possible get involved.

“Financial education is essential in equipping young people with the skills they need to manage their money well, now and in the future.”
