Prince Harry wanted for Top Gear
OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Top Gear’ host Richard Hammond would love Prince Harry to appear on the show competing in the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car’ challenge.
Britain’s Prince Harry is being targetted to appear on ‘Top Gear’. The fun-loving prince is the top choice of the motoring show’s presenter Richard Hammond to take on the ‘Star in a Reasonably Priced Car’ challenge, a fastest lap test which is undertaken by a different celebrity each week.
And the host would also love to see Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, get behind the wheel following her appearance in a skit at the London Olympics opening ceremony last year.
Richard told BBC Newsbeat: “I’d love to get a royal on it and I reckon Harry would be up for it. Or how about the head of the household?’ Let’s have the queen on.
“She did a skydive at the Olympics, so why not have her in a pokey car?”
The 43-year-old presenter – who co-hosts the show with Jeremy Clarkson and James May – is astonished by the quality of guests the programme attracts, with previous lap competitors including Simon Cowell, Tom Cruise, and Cameron Diaz.
He added: “When we first started it really was, ‘Does anyone want to come on our little show?’
“Now all of a sudden Hollywood seems to be knocking on the door to get on the track.”
