Nina Dobrev: I’m honoured by being named best-dressed

Nina Dobrev has said that she appreciates being considered one of the best-dressed celebrities. The 22-year-old revealed that she was surprised when she was named one of the most fashionable celebrities in attendance at the 2011 Primetime Emmy Awards.

“It was certainly an unexpected but wonderful surprise!” Dobrev told Too Fab. “When choosing my dress, I wasn’t expecting to be on the best-dressed list, I really just wanted to pick the best dress that fit me and my personality.”

She continued: “I am thankful to have this great moment where everything really came together perfectly, and to have such an amazing team that helped create the night’s look.”

The Vampire Diaries actress went on to open up about her process for choosing a dress.

“There are two things that are very important to me,” Dobrev explained. “The clothes have to be comfortable, and I have to feel good in what I’m wearing. If I feel confident wearing something, I think it translates in photographs. It changes my demeanor and posture.

“I usually try on a bunch of dresses and sometimes it’s not easy to choose! There are so many beautiful dresses/gowns by unbelievable designers! But the best dress always wins!”

Dobrev recently suffered a concussion on the set of The Vampire Diaries, though she returned to work later that day.

The Vampire Diaries airs Thursdays at 8/7c on The CW in the US, and returns to UK screens from Tuesday at 9pm on ITV2.
