Big Brother 2011: Rebeckah Vaughan (Profile)

Big Brother is a game show in which a group of contestants, called housemates, live in isolation from the outside world in a custom built “house”, which includes everyday facilities such as a fully-equipped kitchen, garden, bedroom, bathroom and,  a task room.

The house is also a television studio with cameras and microphones in most of the rooms to record the activities of the housemates. The only place where housemates can escape the company of the other contestants is the Diary Room, where they are encouraged to voice their true feelings. Not all Diary Room footage is broadcast due to the privacy of the contestants.

Each week all housemates nominate two of their fellow contestants for potential eviction. Failure to do so may result in a punishment, such as a reduction in the prize fund. The two, or more, housemates with the highest number of nominations face a public vote conducted by phone, with the contestant receiving the most votes being evicted from the house. Occasionally more than one housemate may be evicted in a week. The last contestant remaining in the house is declared the winner and is awarded a cash prize.  Since 2004, the prize fund has remained at £100,000!

Rebeckah Vaughan works as a club hostess at Spearmint Rhino gentlemen’s club. The 28-year-old enjoys the finer things in life and is most proud of buying herself a detached house with six bedrooms. She has a walk-in wardrobe which she fills with hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of clothes, bags and shoes.

But Rebeckah is not all spend, spend, spend, and in her spare time runs a dance school for underprivileged children and also works with the Samaritans. Ideally, she would like a job where she gives something back.

The three things that make her happy are “financial security, being pretty and knowing stuff”. The three things that make her most angry are “arrogance, arrogance and arrogance”.

Rebeckah describes herself as claustrophobic and an insomniac who only sleeps four hours per night. She doesn’t think true love exist. She does want to get married and have kids but doesn’t believe it will happen because she has no faith in men.

Rebeckah wants to be in Big Brother because it offers her the chance to change her life. Rebeckah is hopeful her Big Brother experience will teach her to trust other people and says she will take cigarettes into the house to trade, even though she doesn’t smoke.
