Chelsy Davy won’t marry Prince Harry
Chelsy Davy refuses to marry Britain’s Prince Harry — because she doesn’t want to lose her identity. The Zimbabwean-born 26-year-old — who starts work as a trainee solicitor at London law firm Allen & Overy in September — returned to the UK from South Africa for the recent royal wedding and is said to be giving her on-off relationship with Harry another chance.
But, according to Britain’s Mail on Sunday newspaper, Davy has told friends, “There’s no way we are getting married. It’s not a life for me.”
“Chelsy and Harry are back together and it was very significant that she was his plus one for the day,” a source said.
“Harry adores Chelsy and really wants things to work. He has brought up marriage in the past — usually when he’s drunk — but Chelsy’s the one to quickly play it all down.
“She has watched what Kate has gone through and how much she has had to sacrifice, and says it’s not for her.
“Chelsy thought the wedding was wonderful and she had a ball, but there’s no way marriage is on the cards for her. She wants her freedom and to start a career. That’s her focus at the moment, she and Harry are going to see how things go.
“Harry’s got to get his head down so he completes his training but he is much happier with Chelsy moving back to London. She wants to make it work — she has missed Haz — but the truth is she really doesn’t like the attention that comes with dating a prince.”
