Bruce Oldfield donates to dresses to LA Britweek

Bruce Oldfield will present two of his bridal dresses at Los Angeles’ Britweek to celebrate the royal wedding. The designer – who has been tipped to create Kate Middleton’s gown when she marries Prince William on April 29 – has loaned the Lorna and Morgan dresses for an exhibition which will take place in the Neiman Marcus store from April 26 to May 10.

The annual event – which is in its fifth year – celebrates all things British in Los Angeles from film and television, music, fashion, food, sports, art and designs and business innovation.

Thanks to William and Kate’s upcoming wedding, this year’s theme will be all things bridal.

British stars to have attended the event in previous years include Victoria Beckham, Dame Helen Mirren, Naomi Campbell and Russell Brand.

While Kate, 29, is yet to conform who she has chosen to make her dress, Bruce recently revealed the brunette beauty will look stunning on her big day, even though he predicted her dress to be “modest”.

He said: “Whatever happens, there’s going to be a sharp intake of breath, ‘Shhh – oh my God, what is she wearing’ or, ‘Oh, doesn’t she look fabulous?’.

“I’m sure the dress is going to be modest in terms of coverage – it has to be. It will have sleeves, it has to have sleeves.

“You can’t walk down Westminster Abbey in a strapless dress. It just wouldn’t happen. It has to suit the grandeur of that aisle, it’s enormous. I can predict she will wear a veil.”
