Simon Cowell urged to slow down by mother
Simon Cowell’s mother has urged him to cut back on his heavy workload for the sake of his health. The music mogul is currently juggling the launch of his pop star search show ‘The X Factor’ in the US with his other presenting and production commitments including UK ‘X Factor’, ‘America’s Got Talent’ and ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and his mother Julie is worried about the toll his many responsibilities are taking on him.
A source said: “Simon’s mum is freaking out. His family think he’s doing too much and are telling him to slow down before his workload seriously damages his health. There’s no point being the richest man in the cemetery.”
Simon’s father Eric passed away in 1999 from a heart attack and Julie fears heavy smoker Simon – who is also preparing to launch the UK’s “biggest” game show ‘Red Or Black’ – could be putting himself at risk.
The source continued to The Sun newspaper: “The family are protective of Simon and saw what happened to his father. His mum is putting her foot down. He’s got ‘America’s Got Talent’, ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and ‘X Factor’ – as well as the new US ‘X Factor’ and new UK game show ‘Red Or Black’.”
Simon appears to be taking Julie’s concerns seriously and while he will take a judging role on US ‘X Factor’, he is set to take more of a backseat role on the UK version.
The source said: “Simon’s a workaholic but he’d need to be a machine to be physically able to appear on both the American and UK versions of ‘X Factor’ all of the time. His priority this year is the American version.”
