Halle Berry: Daughter won’t like everything I’ve done
Halle Berry admits her daughter Nahla “won’t like everything” her famous mother has done. The actress — who’s currently embroiled in an ugly custody battle with ex Gabriel Aubry — says that when Nahla gets older she might not love every move mom made.
“I’m sure she won’t like everything I’ve done but I hope she appreciates it,” she said.
“I hope she will appreciate that I dared to be myself and always did what I believed in. I hope to pass those qualities on to her.
“I hope she’s proud of me.”
“I wouldn’t say that [parenting] is the hardest work I do,” she added. “I would say it’s the best work I do.”
Berry recently revealed she’d happily quit Hollywood to focus on motherhood.
“Children shift your priorities and now I have a greater purpose for being here. I love making movies but I would give it all up to be with my daughter if I had to because she’s the love of my life,” Halle said.
“She’s made me a better person because everything I do and say, everything I want and don’t want, I think first, ‘Will this be best for her?’
“When you have children you get to see things all over again. So I’ve never laughed as hard, I’ve never done more silly things, and I go to great lengths to make her laugh. She’s awakened a childlike side of me.”
