Nicole Kidman damaged by Tom Cruise split
Nicole Kidman’s split from Tom Cruise left her “really damaged”. Kidman separated from the Hollywood star — with whom she has two adopted children Isabella, 18, and Connor, 15 — in 2001 after 10 years of marriage and although Nicole struggled to cope after their marriage broke down, she has tried to see the positives in their relationship.
“We were very, very tight and that’s why we lasted 10 years which is a good amount of time, particularly when you get married at 23,” Nicole told Britain’s Marie Claire. “That was a great relationship. I think it ran its course.”
Nicole now lives away from the spotlight in Nashville with her husband Keith Urban and their two daughters Sunday Rose, two, and Faith Margaret, who was born in December, but the actress claims she often felt forced into being a celebrity during her marriage to Tom.
“You don’t think of yourself like that. I knew he was a really big star, but after a while, to get to a real place in a relationship, that has to wear off,” he said.
“As a couple we were very private. I was never seeking to be a celebrity, but I was prepared to do that for love.”
Although Nicole Kidman, 43, admitted earlier this month that she had tried Botox in the past, she revealed she has never had any invasion surgery on her face.
“I didn’t like Botox so I’ve gone back to my own forehead. But I’ve never had plastic surgery on my face. People say I have but I haven’t,” she said.
