The 36th Annual César Awards ceremony will be held by the Académie des Arts et Techniques du Cinéma to honor its selection of the best films of 2010 on February 25, 2011.
The César Award is the national film award of France, first given out in 1975. The nominations are selected by the members of the Académie des Arts et Techniques du Cinéma.
The nationally televised award ceremony is held in the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris each February.
The name of the award comes from the sculptor César Baldaccini (1921–1998). The trophies are actual sculptures of the artist. They are considered to be the French equivalent of the American Academy Awards. The 35th Cesar Awards were presented on 27 February 2010.
