The Saint Catherine Foundation supports conservation work at the Saint Catherine’s Monastery in Egypt. The monastery was built between 548 and 565 and is one of the oldest working Christian monasteries in the world. The site contains the world’s oldest continually operating library, possessing many unique books including the Syriac Sinaiticus and, until 1859, the Codex Sinaiticus.
Last year, in 2017, the Saint Catherine Monastery Foundation celebrated its 20th anniversary in London. During this time, tremendous work on the restoration of the monastery was accomplished.
