Martina Hingis marries Thibault Hutin
Martina Hingis is a married woman! The retired Swiss tennis player — ho won five Grand Slam singles titles in her career — wed French show jumper Thibault Hutin on Friday in a private civil ceremony in Paris, according to Swiss newspaper Sonntags Blick.
“Our wedding may take some by surprise,” the paper quotes the bride as saying of the couple’s ceremony, “but it has all been planned for some time.”
The nuptials reportedly took place at city hall in the Paris suburb of Neuilly-sur-Seine.
A small family reception was held in the Presidential Suite of Paris’s Hotel George V, and a traditional Swiss wedding feast will be celebrated next spring.
Hingis, 30, and Hutin, 24, met at a show-jumping competition in St. Tropez in April, shortly after she broke off a long-term engagement to Swiss attorney Andreas Bieri.
