Mandy Moore likes being locked in a room all by herself
Mandy Moore loved voicing a character in the new Disney movie Tangled — because she got to spend several days alone in a recording studio!
Although the former child star was initially disappointed that she wouldn’t be working opposite the other actors — including Zachary Levi — Moore admits she quite liked working in a room on her own.
“I’ve been doing press with Zach for the last couple weeks, and everyone is like, ‘You guys have such great chemistry together,” Moore told the New York Post newspaper.
“We’re like, ‘Um, thank you? We’re meeting for the first time right now, but thank you.’
“I found [being alone in a studio] cathartic and fun to be by myself and do every sort of imaginable line reading and not have to worry about embarrassing myself, especially all the goofy sounds you have to make.
“It was like, ‘OK, today we’re just doing effort sounds. We’re going to get a lot of you running and jumping around and getting chased by thugs.’”
Moore — who shot to fame in her teens — recently insisted her family stopped her from going off the rails like troubled Britney Spears.
“It makes me feel lucky to have a strong support system,” she said.
“I had Mom and Dad traveling with me at a young age, and they were concerned for my welfare. That’s why I’m able to do what I do.”
