Miranda Kerr: Young girls should embrace themselves
Miranda Kerr wants young women to embrace every aspect of themselves. The Aussie supermodel — who’s expecting her first child with her actor husband Orlando Bloom — has written a a self help book called Treasure Yourself.
And she’s hoping the tome will dissuade girls from trying to copy the negative aspects of female stars.
“Treasure Yourself is a simple handbook to encourage young girls to be the best that they can be,” explains Miranda, who is expecting her baby in January.
“I want to try and encourage them to embrace every aspect of themselves. Over the years, when I’ve done autograph signings, I’ve met so many wonderful young women who have said that I’ve really helped them to eat healthily, do yoga and look after themselves. If I had had something like this when I was younger, I would really have found it helpful. I really hope it will stop girls comparing themselves to anyone else and just embrace themselves.”
Kerr recently revealed she wants to make a bronze mold of her baby bump.
“One thing I was tempted to order online is a thing you can put on your tummy to make a mold of your tummy in bronze and you can keep that forever. That way you can always have that memory,” she said.
“You do this mold and then when the baby comes out you can put the baby in a blanket in the mould so it feels like it’s still in your tummy.”
