Charlotte Church doing things differently in new relationship
Charlotte Church is “doing everything differently” in her new relationship. The singer – who split from Gavin Henson, the father of her two children, Ruby, three, and 20-month-old Dexter in May — revealed she is happier than ever with musician Jonathan Powell.
“I love it,” she said. “I’ve learned lessons and I am going into the relationship differently. I am doing everything differently.”
Charlotte also revealed her split from rugby star Gavin is so amicable she votes for him every week when he competes on UK TV talent show dance Strictly Come Dancing.
“I watch him every week because the kids love it,” she said. “He’s doing really well, I was shocked, but he’s doing really well. I am voting for him.”
The 24-year-old star — who is relaunching her pop career with new album Back to Scratch — now accepts her split from Gavin was inevitable but she is relieved it happened while their children are still very young so they will be less affected by it.
“Something had been happening for a long time,” she said. “We wanted to make it work but decided the break-up was inevitable and we did it when the kids are young.
“We’ve both been pretty grown up about it and are doing what’s best for our beautiful babies.”
