OHMYGOSSIP — Scooter Braun was never going to “give up” on Justin Bieber and “let him die” when his protege was having problems in his life. The 37-year old pop manager – whose company SB Projects can count artists like Ariana Grande and Carly Rae Jepsen on its books – has opened up about the troubles the Canadian singer faced between 2013 and 2014 including a number of arrests for assault, driving offences and vandalism.
Scooter – who has managed the ‘Sorry’ hitmaker since 2008 – was always determine to help his friend and he knew Justin was serious about changing his life when he looked his manager in the eye and told him “I’m making a change”, eventually becoming a born-again Christian.
In an interview with The Guardian newspaper, Scooter said: “I was not going to give up on him, I was not going to let him die, I was not going to put him in that position of: ‘Oh, let’s just keep him working.’ ”
Scooter – who is married to Yael Cohen – isn’t worried that 24-year-old Justin’s faith or recent engagement to model Hailey Baldwin will affect his popularity with his fans. The music mogul is happy that the ‘Sorry’ hitmaker has found his faith and is in a good place in his life.
He said: “At the end of the day, I would choose this result over what I was dealing with, a thousand times over. The best thing that happened to Justin Bieber is that he found God. He was able to remove himself from being worshipped, and realise he’s in service to others. Because I don’t think human beings are built to be worshipped.”
