January Jones: I don’t get recognized

January Jones is still managing to keep a low-profile — despite her success on the hit US TV show Mad Men. The actress says she has no trouble going out in public because no one realizes how insignificant she looks when not on the small screen as Betty Draper.

“I don’t get recognized that often because I wander around town in jeans and a T-shirt and my hair in a ponytail,” says January.

“Then if I do get noticed, people will say ‘Are you Betty Draper? Oh my gosh, you look so young. Oh my gosh, you’re so small.’ I must look so much larger than life in the show. I guess the camera does add ten pounds.”

Jones — who has previously dated Ashton Kutcher — recently admitted she finds it hard to meet men.

“I’m in and out of town and I’m not surrounded by anyone but actors, so it is difficult especially for a smalltown girl who’s not necessarily looking for another actor,” she said.

“I’ve had the random someone have their agent contact my agent to ask me out and that’s so bad.

“If that’s the way we have to ask people on dates…”
