Candice Bergen to appear on House

Candice Bergen is heading to House! The actress has landed a recurring role in the upcoming seventh season of the hit TV show, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Bergen — who previously played Shirley Schmidt on Boston Legal and starred in the 2009 film Bride Wars — will play the mother of Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein) in multiple episodes.

Candice — whose first appearance on House will air in November — also won five Emmy awards for her role in Murphy Brown between 1989 and 1995, and was Oscar-nominated for her performance in 1979’s Starting Over.

House will return to Fox on September 20.
